2016 Conejo Recreation & Park District “Touch-a-Truck”
One of the most popular children’s events in the area is the Annual Conejo Recreation & Park District’s Touch-a-Truck event in Thousand Oaks!
Dozens upon dozens of trucks and large vehicles of all shapes and sizes will gather at the Thousand Oaks Community Center for the “Touch-a-Truck” event this weekend. It’s a hugely popular event and parking at the park fills up quickly, so be prepared to park at the Thousand Oaks High School parking lot should the need arise: south of the tennis courts and football field (corner of Moorpark Road and Avenida de Las Flores).
When: June 18, 2016
Where: Thousand Oaks Community Center
2525 N Moorpark Rd.
Thousand Oaks, CA 91360
Look at garbage trucks, Army trucks, stretch limousines, tractors, excavators, dump trucks, school buses, fire engines, ambulances, police vans, monster trucks, bulldozers, police cruisers, motorcycles, you name it! There are simply too many to mention and you and your kids can check out all of them first-hand. They let your kids honk the horns, kick the tires, work the controls, blare the sirens, etc.! (In other words, take some aspirin before you make your way.)
Additionally, there are numerous other activities that you and your children can enjoy. There will be a kids’ construction play area, power wheel course, wash-a-truck, jolly jumps, and a motorized train ride! Throughout the event, you will find live truck demonstrations that include things like water balloons being dropped from the cherry picker, beach balls being unloaded from a dump truck, and even a helicopter landing!
