34th Annual California Strawberry Festival
The last weekend of May will be sweet and red as the 34th Annual California Festival in Oxnard will take place.

General Admission: $12 – Seniors 62+ $8 – Children 5-12 $5 – Kids 4 and under are FREE

The 34th Annual California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard will feature more than 50 food booths with all the berries you can imagine, live concerts, gooey contests, the amazing Strawberryland for kids which features rides and attractions, hundreds of Fine Art & Crafts, cooking demonstrations performed by celebrities, and more than 15 acres of scenic parkland with strawberry fields, as the Beatles would say, forever!
You can save on gas and the $10 parking fee by parking at the Camarillo Premium Outlets. At the outlet, you can take the Strawberry Shuttle to the event.
Berry Fascinating Strawberry Facts
- Despite the terrible berry pun above, strawberries are not true berries. A berry has its seeds on the inside. Strawberries are closer related to roses than they are to blueberries and raspberries.
- Strawberries are the only fruit to dawn its seeds on the outside of its sweet fleshy body. With an average of 200 or so seeds on every strawberry.
- California produces about 80 percent of America’s strawberries. Each year, they grow about 2 billion pounds.
- To extend the life of strawberries, wash them in a bowl of equal parts water and vinegar. The vinegar destroys the cell walls of bacteria and fungi which can quickly rot the fruit. (Rinse with water after the wash.)
