Easy Freezer Recipe: Mason Jar Smoothie

This incredibly easy, incredibly healthy mason jar smoothie recipe is perfect for school mornings.

We know that with the start of the school year comes a lot more activity in your morning. In fact, we’ve experienced first-hand that frazzled feeling that comes with trying to get everyone dressed, fed, and out the door on time!

We want to help you (and ourselves) tackle school mornings with ease, so we’ve come up with some quick and easy breakfast ideas. Here’s one of our favorites: a mason jar smoothie recipe that lets your freezer do the work for you!

To make a batch of these, you’ll need:

  • 6 mason jars
  • 2 large chopped carrots
  • 6 packed cups of spinach
  • 6 ounces of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ chopped pineapple
  • 2 chopped bananas
  • ¾ cup of Greek yogurt
  • 6 tablespoons of flax seed
  • 6 cups of orange juice

Add all of the ingredients into the blender. Once blended, divide the smoothie evenly in the six mason jars. Screw lids on the jars and pop them in the freezer. Each night before bed, take one of the mason jars out and leave it in the fridge to defrost. In the morning, you can send your kids off with a nutrient-packed breakfast they can drink on the way to school. Don’t forget to make one for you too!

You know you’re not alone in feeling busy this time of year, so don’t forget to share this recipe with your friends!
