Easy, Homemade Pumpkin Bread Recipe
No holiday table is complete without homemade pumpkin bread!
Perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and everything in between, try this easy pumpkin bread recipe. Here’s what you’ll need to get started.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 ¾ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup water
- ¼ cup walnuts
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and pre-grease a loaf pan to make sure bread doesn’t stick to the pan.
First mix all the dry ingredients together. Start with the sugars, flour, baking soda, salt, and spices. You may want to use a whisk or a stand mixer just to make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Next add the wet ingredients starting with the pumpkin puree. Then add the eggs, olive oil, and water. Mix until the batter is smooth, but be careful not to over mix. Lastly, add the walnuts.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for about an hour. If you think it might be done a bit sooner, check the bread by inserting a toothpick into the middle. If your toothpick comes out batter free then you’re good to go. Let it cool and enjoy!
*Baking tip: For a bit of a healthier option try using no-sugar-added applesauce in place of oil or butter.
